We believe in the Big Bang Theory.

That is quite wrong from a semantics point of view I think. Scientists don’t „believe” in any but some of the most basic facts about the world, and that’s only because they need some basic stuff to start from. Newton’s principles are an example in this sense. Surely, if someone proved that the principles of thermodynamics were false (which is quite hardly possible, I think), we would have to go from the start again, which isn’t necessarily bad if it happens.

Don’t get me wrong, the assumption that the universe started from a so-called „big bang” is far from solid, but as you said, there is work into finding alternative theories. However, we have proof that *something* like that occured, and that’s mostly due to observation of doppler shifting in the electromagnetic spectrum in certain areas of the observable universe. That also poses other interesting questions, like whether the universe is finite or not.

However, I do agree that science is equivalent to religion for those that do not study certain aspects of it. Computers can be considered magic by some people, and certain advancements in medicine might be thought of as miracles. And that is why education is so important for us.

Of course, these aspects are not meant to shake anyone’s beliefs regarding spiritual matters. People are entitled to believe in whatever makes them feel better.

Wow, what a narrow viewpoint for one called "philosopher". I work for an IT firm as their Account Manager working with clients needs. The 2 reason people do not switch to Linux is (A) Marketing of the product, and (B) Comfort in what is "familiar". Linux does not have the obvious marketing power and advantages of Windows and Apple. I personally see the increase in Linux marketing and thus the increase in Linux usage over the years. They go hand-in-hand. It's not a bad thing that people are ignorant regarding availability of software, that is why they hire companies such as our to introduce creative solutions to their IT needs. Do you know brain surgery? Do brain surgeons mock your ineptness in their field? C'mon, be reasonable when you make such a statement of being "dead stupid". My last point is, yes, people cling to the familiar, what is comfortable to them. Linux, by attempting to bridge that gap, is not "silly" it is a great thing! I speak from personal experience and the clients I work for that there is a slow perceptible growth in Linux use because it is being made more Linux friendly. I also use Ubuntu, though I have tried Mint and like it. Ubuntu was my stepping stone into Linux and any distro that achieves that end is a good thing!

i think in short i know fl is actually d best software ever made and thats 4 me cause it depends on d person handling d software and not d software itself cause d software cannot produce itself but d person behind it produces d song and thats d brain but fl can do d imaginary.cause reasons too straigth forward

Thank you, heidgro, for your response. I hope you will pardon me for being a liitle skeptical. But I remember a once-free e-mail service called NetAddress or Net@ddress. It was one of the best free e-mail services in the world, at one time. You had the option of using your account as a web-based e-mail account, or as a POP/SMTP account, or as a mail-forwarding service. And when I signed up for my Net@ddress account, they promised me that it would be "free for life". Then, all of a sudden, when I least expected it, the "flipped the switch" and told their users that they would have to either start paying a monthly fee for the service, or they would lose their accounts. I can't help but wonder, is GMX goint to do the same thing?

I own these in white. They are better than any other pair of buds i have owned, inc. Sennheiser 200s, Skull candy Full metal jackets (of which i had two pairs both broke and were too bassy)

These headphones are perfect for me. I listen to all types of music. I paid £25 – well worth it

LOL – Mac OS dropps connections almost all the time for me too – seems as if there is a wifi driver issue because with Ubuntu linux or even Windows on the same machine, neither drop the connections. OS X sucks and I am not using a stupid toy OS with a Fisher Price interface. Linux is much faster and if you have issues with drivers or interfaces you can change it all to your liking, something that is not really always possible with a closed off OS.

Thanks for this article.
I started with Reason 2 years ago and have stuck with that, it took some time to learn how it all works, but I am getting very comfortable with it and it is very user friendly after you get the basics. After I finally got the midi-keyboard it is all a bliss and I think the Reason synths are great and it is easy to make your own sounds to have in stock for future use.
All my tracks are made with Reason 4.0, guitars I record with Cubace/Recycle/Dr.Rex(sometimes use ReDrum to play guitar loops as well). Next purcase will be Reason Record.

Chrome shrome! I'm not using anything more Google than I have to.
I use openDNS, not Google's service, too.

I am happy to use a variety of browsers, from day to day, or even intra-day, and I like underdog browsers, such as Opera and I don't use all that many add-ons, anyway. There are hundreds of Linux versions and supporters of each one (OK, many of them), so FF will survive for a very long time.

I tried Linux Mint Fluxbox CE.. and I am a long time Windows user and developer.
When I decided to find a Windows alternative.. I gave Ubuntu and Linux Mint a try!
The best out of box experience comes from Mint. I'd recommend anyone who wants to try linux out to give Mint a go. Its simple and just brilliant.
